There will not a Problem of the Week this week.
Use this link to play the screencasting of the math lesson.  Listen for the prompt to pause the video as students take notes and work.  Add more work time if needed.   Monitor students as they are working.    If students finish early with their work, they can begin to work on their homework.

Science:  Periods 3 and 6
In this period, students will be learning about the tools the will be using in Science.  As you introduce each slide, have students illustrate and label the tool.  They do not have to write all of the information.  They do need to have the illustration and the name of the tool.
There will be some slides on how to read the meniscus on graduated cylinders.  Have them draw the side views of where they eye should be relative to the graduated cylinder (slides 8 and 9.)   Use this link for the presentation.

STEM  Science   Students will need their Netbooks.  They are to go to the website: www.windows2universe.org.  In the search bar, they are to do a search for atmosphere.  Model this for them on the Promethean board.
Once there, they are to select other planets or moons.   They are to write a summary of the atmospheres of other planets / moons.  Their summary needs to also include an illustration of at least one of the facts.  The summaries are to be written on binder paper.   They may work with one other person.   Collect the work at the end of the period.
